VAN TRANSPORT COMPANY, INC. was
incorporated in February 1979 under SEC Registration No.84705.
The Corporation was formed to operate,engage and carry on
the business of Transportation by Land for hire, equipment,
containers and shipping. The principal office is located at
424 Wee Building, Gorordo Ave. Cebu City and with branches
at Manila, Davao and General Santos City.
VTCI started operations in Manila
as a sub contractor to Sea Transport Shipping on Container
hauling operations. On 1983 Sea Transport was sold to Aboitiz
Shipping Corporation and Van Transport moved to Cebu
and did Subcontracting Container hauling for Aboitiz Shipping.
In 1984 VTCI entered into a contract with San Miguel
Brewery in hauling Malt imports in Containers that were shipped
to Cebu. In 1986 VTCI started it's Container Yard operations
serving Foreign Shipping Lines on container storage, and vessel
feeding for direct callers, and hauling to and from exporters.
In 1987 VTCI became sub agents for Anscor Transport
in booking cargo for PM&O Line. In 1988 VTCI became
General Agents for PM&O Line Nationwide and established
offices in Manila, Davao and General Santos. Today we service
foreign Lines in their Container Depot, Hauling and Vessel
Container feeding and we continue to book cargo to Hawaii,
Micronesia and the USWC through PM&O Line and are looking
for more Principals to serve as Shipping Agents to other parts
of the World.
Van Transport became agents for Marianas
Express line in August 2004 and started booking cargoes to
Palau/YAP and Far East ports with a weekly vessel from Hongkong
to Cebu.
By March 2005 Marianas has displayed
2 vessels one calling Hongkong /Cebu/ Hongkong and the ohter
Cebu/Palau/YAP/Butuing/Cebu completing a loop to accept cargoes
destined to Palau/YAP/Butuing/Hongkong/ China port/Korea/Japan/Thailand/Vietnam.
In 2004 Van Transport formed easy access
logistics as a separate marketing aim for specific services
taht was needed by special clients.
Our future plans include expanding into
other cargo related businesses like Forwarding, IT Warehousing,
and Trading.
VTCI'S equipment include 17 Tractor
Heads, 150 chassis trailers, 3 x32 ton cranes, container maintenance
equipment and a 10,000 sq. meter yard located less than a
kilometer from Cebu International Port.
UTCI opened container in General Santos
and Davao located adjacent to the port to serve the direct
callers.
Van Transport Company has been
granted an accreditation with the Philippine Shipper Bureau
and is a member of the Association of International Shipping
Lines.
